The Myth of Balance

People often talk about finding balance as though it's a destination.
As though one day we'll finally arrive at a perfectly organized life where everything receives equal attention and nothing feels overwhelming.
In my experience, balance doesn't work that way.
Balance is not a permanent state.
It's an ongoing practice of noticing when something feels out of alignment and making adjustments.
Some seasons require more attention to work.
Others require more attention to family, health, rest, relationships, or personal growth.
The goal isn't perfection.
The goal is awareness.
When we regularly check in with ourselves, we can recognize when one area of life has been neglected for too long.
We can make intentional choices rather than waiting until stress, exhaustion, or burnout force us to change.
Balance is less about managing time and more about managing attention.
It's about returning to yourself again and again.
Not perfectly.
Just intentionally.
