Our New Pricing Begins August 1—Here’s What Is Changing and Why

Beginning August 1, 2026, Symmetry & Balance will move to a new tiered pricing structure based on each practitioner’s training, experience, and clinical role.

This change is happening now because the care we provide has outgrown our old pricing—not because we suddenly decided massage should cost more, but because our prices no longer accurately reflect what happens inside this clinic.

This Is Not Assembly-Line Massage

At Symmetry & Balance, you are not booking a generic massage with whichever anonymous provider happens to be available.

You are receiving individualized care from a cooperative, multidisciplinary team trained in areas including:

  • Neuromuscular and clinical massage

  • Deep-tissue and therapeutic bodywork

  • Prenatal and postnatal care

  • Lymphatic and facial lymphatic work

  • Abdominal and visceral techniques

  • Thai massage and assisted movement

  • Reiki and nervous-system regulation

  • Alignment therapy and movement medicine

Our practitioners can collaborate, refer within the clinic, and help you find the person whose skills best match what your body needs. You are not starting from scratch every time you see someone new—we are building a connected care team around you.

That level of care requires experienced practitioners, ongoing education, proper appointment spacing, clean linens for every service, thorough room turnover, communication, and enough time to actually listen to you before putting hands on your body.

The New Tiered Pricing

The tiered system allows us to recognize different levels of experience while still giving clients access to excellent care at several price points.

Community Members continue to receive 15% off eligible services, bringing 60-minute appointments to approximately $106–$119 and 90-minute appointments to approximately $140–$153. Membership is $30 per month and commonly used enhancements remain included rather than being stacked onto the bill as upgrades.

How We Compare to Madison-Area Pricing

We reviewed current pricing from other Madison-area massage providers. Individual businesses may advertise lower starting prices, but those prices do not necessarily represent the same combination of advanced training, multidisciplinary cooperation, practitioner experience, customized treatment, and included enhancements.

There are cheaper massages in Madison. There are introductory specials, packages requiring multiple prepaid sessions, high-volume chains, independent practitioners, gyms, and student services.

But when we compare ourselves with providers offering a similar level of advanced, customized care, our pricing remains highly competitive—and in many cases, our member rates are lower.

Even our Level 4 member rate is below local franchise businesses : Elements regular rate by $10 for 60 minutes and $36 for 90 minutes. Our Level 1 member rate is approximately $14 less than Indulge’s lowest standard 60-minute massage and $15 less than its lowest standard 90-minute massage, before comparing what is included.

And unlike many tiered systems, our levels do not determine whether you receive “good” care. Every practitioner is licensed, trained, and supported by the clinic. The levels simply reflect differences in experience, advanced education, leadership, and clinical specialization.

Why We Cannot Keep Charging Like a Basic Massage Studio

Our old prices were built around a smaller version of this business—and, honestly, around Kjersten personally working an unsustainable number of hours to make the math function.

That model caught up with us.

A clinic cannot claim to care about nervous-system health while running its practitioners directly into nervous-system collapse. We cannot retain talented therapists, support continuing education, provide proper turnover time, maintain our space, pay the team responsibly, and keep offering highly individualized care if our pricing is based on what the clinic used to be.

The new pricing allows us to:

  • Pay practitioners according to their training and experience

  • Retain the people our clients already know and trust

  • Bring additional skilled therapists into the clinic

  • Protect time for consultation, sanitation, documentation, and collaboration

  • Reduce the pressure to cram appointments together

  • Continue investing in specialized education and equipment

  • Build a clinic that can function as a team instead of depending on one person’s body

This Is About Protecting the Quality of Your Care

We know a price change affects real household budgets. We did not choose these numbers casually, and we are not trying to become an exclusive luxury spa.

We are creating a sustainable middle ground: advanced, deeply personalized care that remains more accessible than much of the comparable premium market.

Our goal is not to be the cheapest appointment you can find.

Our goal is to provide care that is worth what you pay for it—and to make sure the practitioner standing beside your treatment table is supported enough to still be there the next time you need them.

The new tiered pricing takes effect August 1, 2026.

Same heart. Stronger team. Better structure. And absolutely no laminated, one-massage-fits-every-body routine hiding in the back room.
